Thursday PM Update
Posted by: Chris Hammrich - 07/02/2009 4:06 PM

Clear skies are found across much of the area today - except in western KELOLAND, where we see showers and thunderstorms making their way across the area. A few of these storms could be strong to severe, with main threats of large hail and damaging winds. Heavy rain may also result, so a flash flood watch is posted for the western third of South Dakota. Tonight showers and thunderstorms will move through western and central SD. Eastern SD will see partly cloudy skies during the overnight, with a low in the upper 50’s to around 60.

Temperatures will fall back to the 70’s tomorrow as showers and thunderstorms move east, along and south of Interstate 90. Places could see more than an inch of rain under mostly cloudy skies.

We will keep temperatures in the upper 70’s to low 80’s for your 4th of July holiday. By Saturday night, only a slight chance of thundershowers in East River, while we expect scattered storms in the west. Sunday is looking warmer and drier.

This photo was taken by Clyde in Hermosa of hail from a thunderstorm that moved through the area.
