Monday AM Update
Posted by: Brian Karstens - 08/03/2009 6:47 AM

Good morning,

It was a rough evening and night of weather in parts of KELOLAND.  Large hail was reported around Marshall around 9pm and hail and wind damage was also reported just south of I-90 around Mount Vernon and Mitchell.  Power lines are down around Beresford and more pockets of wind damage were reported around NW IA.  For a complete list of storm reports, click this link.

Look for sunshine to start the day as the next cold front pushes in from the north.  Isolated or scattered t-storms will be possible starting early this afternoon in northern KELOLAND.  That activity will push south this evening, so we’ll include a 20% chance of rain for tonight.  Highs in the meantime will push into the 90s for Pierre and Rapid City…but cooler than yesterday.  Low to mid 80s are likely in eastern KELOLAND.

Tomorrow will be cooler and partly cloudy with highs in the upper 70s to lower 80s.  The best chance of scattered rain will stay in western SD.  Temperatures are expected to slowly warm by the end of the week with more 90s in central and western SD by Friday and Saturday.  Scattered rain will also become more likely by then.
